Team Structure

Our competitive team training is designed for athletes who want to compete at a high level. These athletes train with our experienced staff and compete in local, regional, national, and international meets. 

PREP-SQUAD

Prep-Squad participation is by invitation only. Those with advanced relevant experience may contact: aaronhintz.cda@gmail.com to apply for team membership.


The Prep-Squad is a transitional group between the lessons program and Travel Teams. Divers register for month to month participation and requires a registration fee. 


There are 13-Under and 14-Older squads, each comprise divers who are: new to the sport with related experience; recently graduated from lessons; or experienced divers looking for a lesser time commitment. Our Prep-Squad practices 2 hours, one to four times per week, learning and perfecting introductory somersaulting and twisting skills on 1-meter and 3-meter springboards, and Platforms, appropriate for their competitive age and according to World Aquatic requirements.


Prep-Squad divers may add daily conditioning classes for an nominal fee and are eligible to  travel to invitational meets, USA Diving Region and Zone championships and AAU National Diving Championships.

 


TRAVEL TEAMS

Team participation requires a yearlong commitment with training goals established at the beginning of each season. Movement up through the levels is determined by the coaching staff, but generally follows USA Diving’s championship format – Our National squad members qualify for AAU Nationals and USA Diving National preliminaries, and Our Elite Squad are Junior National Semi-finalists and finalists.

All Team members receive dry-land training in our belt systems over the dry-board or trampoline, water training on 1-meter and 3-meter springboards and platforms, and a structured conditioning program with our strength and conditioning coach.


National Squad

The 13-Under and 14-Older squads each comprise divers who are: recently promoted from Prep-Squad; new to the sport with significant related experience; or experienced divers looking for a lesser time commitment. Our National Squad practices 3 hours, five times per week, perfecting introductory somersaulting and twisting skills and preparing advanced skills on 1-meter and 3-meter springboards, and Platform, that are appropriate for their competitive age and according to World Aquatic requirements.


Elite Squad

There is a 13-Under and 14-Older Elite squad, each group has divers who have previously qualified for the USA Diving Junior National Championships, or competed in a related sport at the highest national level. Elite Team divers practice 4 1/2 hours per day five days per week perfecting advanced twisting and somersaulting skills on 1-meter and 3-meter springboards, and Platform, appropriate for their competitive age and according to World Aquatic requirements.
